A tribute to Alice in Chains, one of my dad and I’s favorite bands of all time. I re-illustrated three of the band's most popular albums and turned them into vinyl. Jar of Flies, Facelift, and Dirt. Each vinyl cover illustration delivers the deeper meaning behind each album:
Dirt: Representing the raw emotions of anger, drug abuse, and mistreatment, the cover features a worn headstone, cobwebs, and spiders, symbolizing the feeling of being trapped and broken.
Facelift: A reimagining of lead singer Layne Staley, as he seemingly tears away his flesh to reveal bone. This debut album is about the band asserting their talent in the grunge scene, and the illustration reflects Layne's personal struggles.
Jar of Flies: A bride in a dark dress, her face obscured by a veil, surrounded by flies and spiders. This melancholy EP explores heartbreak, isolation, and despair.
